Engine adjustment for poor diesel quality and higher altitudes

The first preparation for our big road trip to the Americas is the adjustment of the engine of our expedition vehicle. Adaptations must be made since the diesel quality in some countries is not the same as in Europe. Another problem will be that driving at altitudes above 3,000 metres will cause problems for the engine, so the engine control unit will have to be reprogrammed.

We have opted for the services of the team Offroad-motorhomes with Markus Gruse. The engine customisation package also includes remote diagnostics, and shipping worldwide express spare parts.

All the work took place at the Iveco Betrieb Mainz workshop and was done within hours.
