Our project has progressed
In the meantime the construction of our RV has started and some decisions have been made about the layout and the technical equipment.
We opted for a front alcove instead of a cabin roof rack, which offers us more storage space that is accessible from the inside. The interior width will be 2200mm, the interior length 4150mm. The layout will be classic, with a pull-out rear transverse bed, a dinette and bathroom on the driver's side and a kitchenette on the passenger side.
On the technical side, we will have a 250 liter fuel tank, an approx. 240 liter fresh water tank and a 130 liter gray water tank. A black water tank is not required as we opted for a composting toilet. The heater will be a Truma Combi D 6 E diesel heater with a Truma VarioHeat Eco gas heater as a backup. For the electrical setup we will have a 330Ah Lithium battery and 720W of solar panels. The kitchen will be equipped with a Thetford 3 burner stove combined with an oven and a 130 Liter Isotherm compressor refrigerator.
Finally, we also found a name for our RV. After a long deliberation, "Gecko" won the race.
Why Gecko? Geckos are highly adaptable and agile, meaning that they have a certain freedom about them to move around at will. An ideal name for our 4x4 RV.
